The time has come to say a fond farewell to our trusty pizza oven. It has been much loved and much used over the past four years but now the cracks are literally starting to show.

But don’t worry, it will return, with a new look and a new location, ready for opening next season.

As it was so popular last time (and a lot of fun), we will be building the new pizza oven during a one day course with the help of Sarah Partridge from Orchard Barn Environmental Education Centre.

Over the course of the day we will be making cob with local clay, earth, sand and straw, looking at ways to create the shape of the oven, and learning how to work with our newly made natural building material.

The course will be run between 10am and 4pm on Sunday 17th March 2019. The cost is £40 per person which will include coffee, tea and cake throughout the day. Please bring a packed lunch and sturdy boots or wellies with you. All other equipment and materials will be provided. We will be working under shelter but warm clothing and rain coats are probably a good idea.

If you would like to book a place please get in touch with Kath or Neel on 01359 250594, or at info@lingsmeadow.co.uk. The campsite won’t be fully open in March, but we are happy to provide facilities and an area to pitch a tent or park a camper van if you would like to stay over night (£5 per person).
