Cooking outdoors

Cooking outdoors is an essential part of camping so we provide fire pits with grills at each pitch. The StarDome and the two Slow Camping base camps also have one pot rocket stoves and kelly kettles. You could also try our wood fired pizza oven.

Larger fixed BBQs and space to sit and relax can be found in the timber framed camp kitchen and the large communal tipi.  We also have a mini freezer for freezing your cool blocks.

Farm shop

Mondays – Saturdays 8.20am to 5pm

Sundays 9am to 4.30pm

We are very lucky to have a well stocked farm shop just 800m down the road from the campsite. They offer baked goods, a delicatessen, fruit and veg, a fantastic butcher and lots of other locally sourced produce. They also have a cafe on site and a plant nursery.

Wooster’s bakery

Wednesdays – Fridays 8.30am to 4pm

Saturdays – 9am to 1pm

The bakery is just a few minutes away in the next village. It is a lovely cycle ride along country roads and the journey takes about 20 minutes. You can turn up at the shop, but as it is very popular we recommend preordering to make sure that you get your sourdough and pastries! Will the baker needs 48 hours notice for preorders.

Wood fired pizzas

If you are feeling adventurous you can try out our cob pizza oven. We know that it cooks fantastic pizzas (shop bought seem to work just as well as homemade) but do feel free to try something creative. We can provide a trug of kindling, a pizza paddle and oven gloves. We are also happy to help get it fired up as it can take a bit of practice. There are three slots available each evening and a sign up board in the camp kitchen.

Wood, kindling, charcoal and eco firelighters

We have supplies of seasoned firewood and kindling on site and also offer bags of locally made charcoal. It really is incredibly efficient and a half bag will be plenty for an evening’s BBQing. And of course we have some marshmallows for toasting too! Eco firelighters are provided free of charge.
